Qualcomm is looking for an Engineer to design, develop, and maintain embedded software drivers and bus frameworks. The role involves working with communication protocols, debugging issues, and participating in board bring-up and validation activities. Candidates should have 2-5 years of experience in embedded software development with strong C programming skills and knowledge of embedded systems and RTOS.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, debug, and maintain embedded software drivers and bus frameworks.
Develop and support communication protocols including I2C, SPI, UART, I3C, PCIe, and other platform bus technologies.
Investigate and resolve driver issues reported by validation teams, integration teams, and customers.
Work with hardware, firmware, and system teams to understand requirements and implement software solutions.
Develop new features, enhancements, and bug fixes for embedded software platforms.
Participate in board bring-up, platform enablement, and silicon validation activities.
Execute unit testing, integration testing, and debugging of software components.
Analyze logs, traces, crashes, and system behavior to identify root causes and implement fixes.
Contribute to software architecture, design discussions, and code reviews.
Follow software development lifecycle (SDLC) practices including design, implementation, testing, review, and maintenance.
Create and maintain software design documents, test plans, and release documentation.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely delivery of software milestones.

Requirements

2-5 years of experience in embedded software development.
Strong programming skills in C.
Good understanding of embedded systems and microcontroller/microprocessor architecture.
Knowledge of RTOS or embedded operating system concepts.
Understanding of interrupt handling, synchronization, multitasking, and memory management.
Familiarity with driver development and debugging techniques.
Good debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Understanding of communication protocols such as I2C, SPI, UART, I3C, USB, or PCIe.
Exposure to Git, version control systems, and software development processes.
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.

Desired Qualifications

Experience using debugging tools such as JTAG, logic analyzers, protocol analyzers, or oscilloscopes is a plus.
Exposure to Linux, RTOS, UEFI, Android, Zephyr, or similar embedded platforms.
Knowledge of device drivers, DMA, power management, and interrupt frameworks.
Familiarity with multiprocessor or multicore systems.
Understanding of firmware-software-hardware interactions.
BE / BTech / MTech in: Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE), Computer Science Engineering (CSE)
