Qualcomm is seeking a Staff Display and Graphics Software Engineer for their Customer Engineering team in San Diego. The role involves supporting customers with display/graphics software on embedded Linux platforms, primarily the Snapdragon platform. Requires strong C/C++ programming, device driver debugging, and knowledge of graphics technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Support customers with understanding, integrating, customization, building, and bring-up of Qualcomm software.
  • Enable debugging features and provide training to customers.
  • Work with Display/Graphics software support on Qualcomm’s embedded platforms (Linux on Snapdragon).
  • Support hardware interfaces, device drivers, Display and Graphics processors, kernel, and high-level OS/framework.
  • Interface with QCT customers and internal teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 4+ years of Software Applications Engineering, Software Development experience, or related work experience.
  • OR Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 3+ years of Software Applications Engineering, Software Development experience, or related work experience.
  • OR PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 2+ years of Software Applications Engineering, Software Development experience, or related work experience.
  • 2+ years of experience with Programming Language such as C, C++, Java, Python, etc.
  • 1+ year of experience with debugging techniques.
  • Strong C/C++ programming skills.
  • Device driver programming and debugging with JTAG/other tools.
  • Understanding of display and graphics technologies, software stack, Linux kernel, Display/GPU processing.
  • Knowledge of microprocessor architecture and cache subsystem.
  • Strong Debugging skills on generic processors.
  • Strong communication, written & interpersonal skills.
  • High motivation, ability to learn quickly, self-starter.

Desired Qualifications

  • Knowledge of OS/system performance profiling and optimization techniques a plus.
  • Strong team player.
