As a Microsoft Data Center Technician in Italy, you will perform diagnostics, troubleshooting, and maintenance on server and network equipment, ensuring minimal disruption to services. This full-time, on-site role requires a high school education or equivalent, experience with hardware diagnostics and upgrades, and a valid driver's license. You will also provide guidance to other technicians and contribute to a positive team environment.
Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostics and troubleshooting following standard procedures, identifying and replacing faulty components with minimal disruption.
- Conduct post-execution quality checks to ensure proper grounding, staging, labeling, and cabling according to safety protocols and deployment standards.
- Decommission and upgrade hardware for simple changes and refreshes following standard procedures.
- Communicate, report, and escalate incidents to appropriate Microsoft data center operations management units, Technician Leads, and engineering specialists.
- Assist and provide guidance to other technicians on challenging or complex tasks.
- Complete required training and observe experienced technicians for hands-on experience.
- Contribute to a positive team environment by sharing information and participating in team meetings.
- Take ownership of service quality, completeness, and the resulting user experience, embodying accountability and ownership of data center facilities.

Requirements
- Completed High/Secondary School, GED, an apprenticeship/vocational qualification, or equivalent experience.
- Basic knowledge of computer hardware and components.
- Experienced in diagnostics, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis of hardware deployments.
- Experience in decommissioning and upgrading hardware.
- A valid driver's license is required as travel between sites may be necessary.
- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements, including the Microsoft Cloud background check.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience supporting IT equipment or related technology.
- Applicable certifications: CompTIA (A+, Server+, Network+), Basic Structure Cabling (BSC).
