Ericsson is looking for a Data Center Services Technician III to support hyperscale and enterprise data center environments primarily in Plano, TX, with a remote option available within Texas. The role involves independent installation, deployment, and maintenance of infrastructure components including servers, network devices, and cabling, requiring at least 1 year of relevant experience.
Responsibilities
- Independently install and deploy servers, network devices, storage equipment, and related infrastructure.
- Install, route, terminate, and dress copper and fiber cabling, ensuring proper labeling and management.
- Install rack power distribution units (PDUs) and connect equipment to power sources.
- Perform equipment provisioning, hardware component installation, and out-of-band (OOB) management connections.
- Execute basic testing and validation activities, and perform moves, adds, changes, and disconnects (MACD activities).
- Maintain accurate installation records, test results, inventory updates, and as-built documentation.
- Identify and escalate design concerns, operational issues, and safety risks.
Requirements
- High school diploma, technical certification, vocational training, or equivalent experience.
- 1+ years of experience in data center operations, structured cabling, telecommunications, field services, or IT infrastructure support.
- Working knowledge of data center hardware, racks, servers, networking equipment, power distribution systems, and structured cabling.
- Understanding of copper and fiber cabling practices, basic optical networking concepts, and installation standards.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, installation documentation, and methods of procedure (MOPs).
- Experience performing rack-and-stack, cabling, testing, and equipment installation activities with minimal supervision.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and commitment to quality and safety.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with technicians, project teams, vendors, and customers.
