AWS Infrastructure Services is seeking a Data Center Manager in Mumbai, India, to lead high-performing teams responsible for the design, planning, delivery, and operation of AWS global infrastructure. Responsibilities
- Manage and develop teams of engineers, providing technical and leadership expertise.
- Maintain existing co-located and in-house Data Centers.
- Assist in building and bringing new Data Centers online.
- Continuously improve all processes and procedures.
- Manage relationships with external vendors and contractors.
- Liaise with internal teams and management groups.
- Ensure adherence to and exceeding local Health & Safety standards.
- Create and maintain metrics for data center operations and drive positive changes.
- Assist in implementing service methodologies (incident, problem, change, capacity management).
Requirements
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and effective communication abilities.
- 4+ years of data center engineering or operations experience.
- 3+ years of managing IT technical teams with significant personnel management experience.
- Experience in developing engineers and building successful teams.
- Experience in managing high and low performing employees.
- Experience with conflict management.
- Extensive experience dealing with high severity situations and understanding blast implications.
- Experience in Change Management & Fault Management.
- Proven experience dealing with external vendors, contractors, and security companies.
- Demonstrated ability to improve both good and bad working processes.
- Experience in process mapping and implementing remediation steps.
- Health & Safety must be a priority, with the ability to positively influence the safety culture.
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or above in engineering or equivalent STEM field, or 4+ years of network and operating system support experience.
- 1+ years of Agile methods and processes experience.
- Experience in capacity planning, operations planning, business analysis, or similar.
- Knowledge of Lean, Kaizen, Six Sigma concepts.
- Experience implementing change management successfully transitioning programs into large-scale operations.
