Amazon Data Services India Private Limited (ADSIPL) is looking for a Data Center Manager in Hyderabad, India to manage cloud computing infrastructure and lead high-performing teams. Responsibilities
- Manage and develop teams of engineers, providing technical and leadership expertise.
- Maintain existing co-located and in-house Data Centers.
- Assist in building and bringing online new Data Centers.
- Continuously improve processes and procedures.
- Manage relationships with external vendors and contractors.
- Liaise with internal teams and management groups.
- Ensure adherence to and exceed local Health & Safety standards.
- Create and maintain metrics on all aspects of Data Centers to drive positive changes.
- Assist in implementing service methodologies (incident, problem, change, capacity management).
- Refine and develop processes to optimize operational excellence.
- Drive performance levels to achieve the pace of building and operating Data Centers in India.
Requirements
- 5+ years of operations management experience.
- 3+ years of managing technical teams with significant personnel management experience.
- Experience in facilities management, or experience in project management.
- Proven manager with experience managing teams of high performers.
- Ability to refine and develop processes to optimize operational excellence.
- Experience in Data Centers, either building or managing (or both).
- Exposure to developing great relationships with both internal teams and external vendors.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and effective communication abilities.
- Experience dealing with high severity situations and understanding wider blast implications.
- Experience in Change Management & Fault Management.
- Experience dealing with external vendors and displaying incidents of problem & conflict management.
- Demonstrated ability to improve working processes.
- Experience in process mapping and implementing remediation steps.
- Health & Safety should be at the forefront of every manager's mind.
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent STEM field, or 6+ months of network and operating system support experience.
- 1+ years of agile software development methodology experience.
- Knowledge of Six Sigma/Lean processes.
- Experience creating and implementing large-scale programs.
- 2+ years of capacity planning, operations planning, business analysis or similar experience.
- Experience managing both high & low performing employees will be of advantage along with conflict management.
- Experience in Kaizen/Lean/Six Sigma is preferable.
- Ability to positively influence the Safety culture of the Data Center organization.
