Atlas Copco Group is seeking an experienced Data Architect in Pune, India to design and implement scalable, secure data solutions for data analytics initiatives. Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement innovative data solutions for data analytics initiatives.
- Define and implement scalable, secure data architectures for analytics platforms and BI solutions.
- Recommend the best-fit data technologies (cloud platforms, data lakes, data warehouses, analytics tools) for optimal performance.
- Design solutions that integrate seamlessly with existing IT infrastructure.
- Ensure scalability and future growth are considered in architecture design.
- Collaborate closely with data engineers, analysts, data scientists, and stakeholders.
- Identify potential risks and propose mitigation solutions.
- Communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Stay up-to-date with emerging trends in data and analytics.
Requirements
- Expertise in data modelling techniques, including relational (SQL) and non-relational (NoSQL) databases.
- Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts, ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes, and big data technologies.
- Proficiency in SQL and scripting languages like Python, Spark, etc. for data manipulation and automation.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms (Microsoft Azure, Data Bricks, Fabric) for deploying and managing data solutions.
- Understanding of data governance, security best practices, and data access controls.
- Excellent communication skills to bridge the gap between technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to analyze complex data problems and design effective solutions.
- Experience managing data-related projects and ensuring successful execution.
- Ability to guide and collaborate effectively with data engineers, analysts, data scientists, and business teams.
- Strategic thinking and enterprise-level solution design capabilities.
- Ability to discuss requirements with stakeholders and communicate understanding back.
- Ability to work with stakeholders to understand the big picture and work towards it.
- Ability to work with team members and other users from the organization at different levels for performance improvement and suggestions.
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
Desired Qualifications
- Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Databricks Certified Solution Architect are good to have.
- Interest in keeping up with emerging data technologies.
- Experience in hybrid environments (cloud + on-prem).
- Business acumen: Understanding of core business processes and how data analytics can drive strategic decision-making.
- Experience with project management tools like Agile or Scrum.
- Ability to mentor and guide junior team members within the data team.
- Decisive (not afraid of making errors and willing to learn by doing).
- Open-minded; expect the unexpected (= stay skeptical when viewing data and info).
- Not afraid to approach other stakeholders (customer center specialists, local engineering, or technical support specialists).
- Structured approach when collecting info and data, and when closing the feedback loop to further increase learning.
