Microsoft is seeking a Data Analytics IC3 to join its People Analytics team. This role focuses on building AI tools to empower HR community with self-serve data answers, rather than producing reports. The ideal candidate will use analytical backgrounds to build tools, improve AI performance, and be the voice of the analyst within the team.
Responsibilities
- Build and extend people-analytics MCP server, adding new datasets, improving answer quality, and reducing response times.
- Diagnose and fix bugs across AI tools with rigorous testing before release.
- Partner with the People Analytics team to build and test GitHub Copilot skills that encode analytical methods.
- Prototype new solutions as opportunities arise, collaborating with senior teammates and adapting to shifting priorities.
- Stay embedded with analysts to understand tool limitations and translate feedback into user-adopted improvements.
- Share knowledge, teach new AI tools and techniques, and contribute to a skills community.
- Build responsibly with sensitive people data, ensuring confidentiality, access control, and adherence to privacy requirements.
Requirements
- Master's Degree in Mathematics, Analytics, Data Science, Engineering, Computer Science, Business, Economics or related field OR Bachelor's Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Analytics, Data Science, Engineering, Computer Science, Business, Economics or related field AND 2+ years experience in data analysis and reporting, data science, business intelligence, or business and financial analysis OR equivalent experience.
- Experience using AI technologies.
- Familiarity with tools like GitHub Copilot, Cowork, and Scout.
- Ability to build and improve analytical tools.
Desired Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Mathematics, Analytics, Data Science, Engineering, Computer Science, Business, Economics or related field AND 3+ years experience in data analysis and reporting, data science, business intelligence, or business and financial analysis OR Bachelor's Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Analytics, Data Science, Engineering, Computer Science, Business, Economics or related field AND 5+ years experience in data analysis and reporting, data science, business intelligence, or business and financial analysis OR equivalent experience.
