Cybersecurity Analyst — Semiconductor IP OR Hardware Security Analyst
Technology, Data & Digital · IT Infrastructure & Security · Cybersecurity · Software Engineering
In short
Responsibilities
- Lead threat analysis for semiconductor IP and associated firmware, recommending controls.
- Run security analysis throughout the cybersecurity lifecycle: planning, design, implementation, verification, and release.
- Advise product teams on cybersecurity requirements, architecture, and verification.
- Author customer-facing security integration guidance.
- Review RTL, architecture, and verification intent against secure-design principles.
- Support in-field cybersecurity activities, including vulnerability assessment and incident analysis.
- Facilitate working sessions with cybersecurity architects and design/verification leads.
- Deliver analysis incrementally with product teams in agile sprints.
- Use Python to automate analysis and produce repeatable reports.
- Utilize agentic workflows (AI agents, structured prompts, human-in-the-loop review) to speed research and routine tasks.
- Manage work in Jira, Confluence, Git, and GitLab for tracking, documentation, and version control.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, computer science, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Typically, 4 or more years in product cybersecurity, embedded security, digital design, digital verification, or a closely related engineering role.
- Practical experience performing threat modeling or threat analysis and risk assessment on real products.
- Ability to identify assets, attackers, attack surfaces, and attack paths, and map each to a mitigation.
- Comfort working without a single known end-system; analysis must cover representative integration scenarios.
- Experience applying a cybersecurity lifecycle across planning, requirements, design, implementation, verification, and release.
- Ability to turn threat-analysis results into requirements, design guidance, verification objectives, and release evidence.
- Hands-on understanding of embedded systems (SoC or MCU integration, firmware, hardware/software interfaces, memory-mapped registers, boot and debug, on-chip interconnects).
- Ability to reason about hardware-rooted threats and firmware threats, and read architecture, databooks, and interface specifications.
- Hands-on proficiency as a digital designer or digital verification engineer.
- Ability to read and discuss RTL (Verilog, SystemVerilog, or VHDL), architecture, interfaces, and register maps with designers and verification leads.
- Ability to judge whether a claimed cybersecurity control is implemented in the design and is verifiable.
- Experience delivering analysis or engineering work inside agile product teams, including re-scoping when product content changes.
- Ability to write and maintain Python for analysis and automation; scripts should be readable and usable by other analysts.
- Practical experience using AI agents and agentic workflows to speed research, drafting, and repetitive analysis, while maintaining human ownership of technical conclusions.
- Hands-on use of Jira, Confluence, Git, and GitLab (or an equivalent Git forge) for tickets, documentation, and review.
- Clear written and spoken English; ability to lead technical sessions with geographically distributed teams.
Desired Qualifications
- An advanced degree is welcome, not required.
- Working knowledge of ISO/SAE 21434 or a comparable product-cybersecurity standard is helpful.
- Analog or mixed-signal background is helpful.
- Semiconductor IP product experience is helpful.
- Experience with vulnerability handling is helpful.
- Experience with applied embedded cryptography is helpful.
Benefits
- Comprehensive medical and healthcare plans.
- ETO and FTO Programs in addition to company holidays.
- Maternity and paternity leave, parenting resources, adoption and surrogacy assistance.
- Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP) with a 15% discount and 24-month look-back.
- Retirement plans (vary by region and country).
- Competitive salaries.
- Opportunities to work with cutting-edge technologies like AI/ML and GenAI.
