As a Critical Environment Technician with Microsoft's CO+I team, you will be responsible for maintaining critical datacenter infrastructure, performing various types of maintenance, troubleshooting equipment, and enforcing safety and security requirements. This is a full-time, on-site role that may involve occasional business travel.
Responsibilities
- Maintain critical infrastructure that keeps datacenters up and running.
- Perform basic monitoring and inspection, various types of maintenance, and equipment troubleshooting.
- Enforce all safety and security requirements and develop methods of operating procedures (MOPs) and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Ensure work performed by suppliers/vendors is performed to scope and all documentation is completed correctly.
- Prepare and submit required reports, such as turnover and preventative maintenance (PM) reports.
- Safely respond to and stabilize abnormal conditions within required timeframes.
- Utilize internal computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) to track equipment assets and complete work order requests.
Requirements
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- 1+ year(s) mission critical services work/applied learning experience (e.g., high availability assembly/manufacturing/critical infrastructure environments such as data centers, oil and gas refineries, hospitals, pharmaceutical, manufacturing, or related fields) OR equivalent experience.
- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements, including Microsoft Cloud Background Check and Reliability Status screening for Canada.
Desired Qualifications
- Associate's Degree or technical trade certification (e.g., military, trade school), or higher-equivalent education AND 4+ years mission-critical services experience.
- OR High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent AND 5+ years mission critical services experience.
- Ability to work non-rotational 12-hour shifts, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to travel up to 25% of the time.
- Normal color vision for electrical work.
