Responsibilities
- Design and develop control systems for automated feeding equipment, including PLCs, HMIs, sensors, and actuators.
- Program and debug PLCs and HMIs for custom automation solutions, specifically Allen Bradley and Siemens.
- Create electrical schematics and panel layouts using AutoCAD and EPLAN software.
- Collaborate with mechanical and software teams to integrate controls with mechanical systems.
- Conduct system testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning in-house and at customer sites.
- Develop and maintain documentation including wiring diagrams, control logic, and user manuals.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and industry regulations (e.g., NFPA 79, UL508A).
- Provide technical support and training to customers and internal teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, mechatronics, or related field or equivalent work experience.
- 3+ years of experience in controls engineering, preferably in automation or feeding systems.
- Proficiency in PLC programming and HMI development for Allen Bradley and Siemens products.
- Experience with Microsoft office suite products, AutoCAD, and EPLAN software.
- Strong understanding of industrial automation components (sensors, motors, drives, etc.).
- Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work with cross-functional teams.
- Commitment to all safety protocols, OSHA industry standards, proper equipment use, safe operation of tools and machinery, and consistent use of required protective gear.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with motion control and servo systems is a plus.
- Travel may be required (10-20%).
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and engage in activities such as standing, walking, bending, stooping, and installing tooling throughout the entire shift.
