Responsibilities
- Lead and develop a high-performing team of Commissioning Engineers, including hiring and performance management.
- Create a vision for the team and set priorities aligned with organizational goals.
- Understand the technology and lifecycle of data center mechanical and electrical infrastructure.
- Utilize knowledge of standards, related disciplines, contractual and business acumen to develop strategies.
- Create standards for others to operate by and build consensus across the organization.
- Identify key value drivers that contribute to commissioning success and lead process improvement strategies.
- Fix broken processes, convert proven concepts into mechanisms, and iterate existing mechanisms to improve outcomes.
- Lead cross-functional teams in commissioning for availability and reliability-focused initiatives.
- Develop and manage metrics that quantify performance and measure the effectiveness of commissioning.
- Establish a cadence to inspect performance, ensure compliance, provide insights, and track improvements.
- Conduct in-depth data analysis to develop cross-functional mechanisms that improve overall organizational metrics.
- Align cross-functionally and influence a broad spectrum of stakeholders to deliver on the quality policy.
- Communicate and provide guidance to Finance during the development and execution of capital and operational forecast.
- Lead capital and operational budget and organizational planning.
- Deliver solutions to complex problems through data analysis and forensics, communicating recommended solutions up through leadership teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, management, or technology, or Bachelor's degree in STEM.
- Experience in construction or project management, or experience working in a data center or mission critical facility.
- 3+ years of engineering team management experience.
- 3+ years of people leadership experience.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience setting metric driven goals to improve a department or an organization.
- Experience in cost/benefit analysis of project proposals.
- Experience communicating complex information and solutions to senior stakeholders and influencing decisions.
- Experience in solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations that have a proven impact on business (e.g., financial savings, operational improvements, or customer benefits).
