In short

As a Buyer for Global Procurement Central Services (GPCS), you will ensure a constant flow of packaging goods and services at the best value for Amazon's Fulfillment Centers. This role involves daily material management, purchase order execution, supplier liaison, and compliance checks, reporting to the Procurement Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute daily forecast and effective materials management for non-inventory packaging supplies.
  • Execute purchase order creation.
  • Liaise with suppliers to secure prompt deliveries.
  • Develop relationships with internal customers, external suppliers, and other Amazon Teams.
  • Ensure full compliance with the company Spending and Transaction Policy.
  • Plan truck deliveries and delivery time slots.
  • Communicate accurate delivery schedules to local FC receiving teams.
  • Act as an escalation point for delivery issues.
  • Collaborate with Operations and on-site procurement teams on space constraint mitigation strategies.
  • Manage and reduce Invoices on Hold (IOH) requests.
  • Provide support and training to other buyers.
  • Deliver on Procurement metrics, KPI targets, cost savings, and project objectives.
  • Perform compliance checks on purchase requisitions.
  • Create, modify, or deprecate procurement catalogs.
  • Perform Vendor Onboarding tasks.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of advanced English at CEFR level B2/C1.
  • Experience with MS Office, in particular MS Excel.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience in procurement and purchasing, including supplier relationship management.
  • Fluency in Italian (speak, write, read).
  • Fluency in Japanese (speak, write, read).
  • Fluency in German (speak, write, read).
  • Fluency in Arabic (speak, write, read).
