Amazon Payment team seeks a Business Intelligence Engineer (L4) for Japan Payment Products in Bengaluru, Karnataka. The role involves building analytic and reporting capabilities, identifying growth opportunities through data-driven insights, and partnering with business customers to deliver BI solutions. Requires 2+ years of data analysis experience with SQL, visualization tools, and scripting languages.

Responsibilities

  • Interfacing with business customers, gathering requirements and delivering complete BI solutions to drive insights and inform product, operations, and marketing decisions.
  • Interfacing with other technology teams to extract, transform, and load data from a wide variety of data sources using SQL (Redshift, Oracle) and ability to use a programming and/or scripting language to process data for modeling.
  • Evolve organization wide Self-Service platforms.
  • Building metrics to analyze key inputs to forecasting systems.
  • Leading complex analytical deep dives (Segmentation, A/B testing).
  • Recognizing and adopting best practices in reporting and analysis: data integrity, test design, analysis, validation, and documentation.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc. experience
  • Experience with one or more industry analytics visualization tools (e.g. Excel, Tableau, QuickSight, MicroStrategy, PowerBI) and statistical methods (e.g. t-test, Chi-squared)
  • Experience with scripting language (e.g., Python, Java, or R)
  • Bachelor's degree or above in statistics, business analytics, data analytics, data science, computer science or related field
  • Experience operating highly available, distributed systems of data extraction, ingestion, and processing of large data sets, or experience driving collaborative projects from conception to delivery

Desired Qualifications

  • Master's degree, or Advanced technical degree
  • Knowledge of data modeling and data pipeline design
  • Experience with statistical analysis, co-relation analysis
  • Experience communicating and presenting to senior leadership
  • Experience building data products incrementally and integrating and managing data sets from multiple sources
  • Knowledge of BI analytics, reporting or visualization tools like Tableau, AWS QuickSight, Cognos or other third-party tools
  • Experience working with redshift, Cradle or other AWS tools is a plus
  • Hands On experience with Python, R is a plus
