As an Area Manager for a Sort Center, you will manage a team, facilitate information flow, and resolve issues impacting customer experience and business continuity. The role requires a basic understanding of logistics, strong communication skills, and the ability to drive process improvements. Experience with performance metrics and data-backed decision-making is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Managing a shift, identifying opportunities to improve team performance and owning change management.
  • Developing and referencing performance metrics to drive team performance and business results.
  • Identifying business impact of trends and making data-backed decisions.
  • Communicating with external customers (Carriers, Vendors/Suppliers) and internal customers (Finance, Ops Excellence, Fulfillment Centers).
  • Escalating problems or variances in information and data to relevant owners and following through on resolutions.

Requirements

  • 1+ years of employee and performance management experience.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
  • 2+ years of performance metrics, process improvement or lean techniques experience.
  • Basic understanding of the logistics space.
  • Clear written and oral communication skills.

Desired Qualifications

  • 1+ years of performance metrics, process improvement or lean techniques experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, operations, supply chain, transportation logistics.
  • Ability to pull data from numerous databases (using Excel, Access, SQL and/or other data management systems) and to perform ad hoc reporting and analysis, as needed, is a plus.
