Responsibilities
- Leads, plans, and synthesizes ambiguous or conflicting requirements for cellular technologies.
- Designs, implements, and validates state-of-the-art cellular technologies.
- Collaborates with cross-functional teams to develop high quality and high capability air interface and modems.
- Researches, designs, standardizes, implements, optimizes, verifies, validates, and commercializes Wireless WAN (or cellular) air interfaces, modem technologies, and related core networks.
- Develops models, code, tests, and/or simulations to design or verify components.
- Assists with the integration of architecture and systems into a standard, chipset, platform, or product.
- Uses proprietary tools, such as Qualcomm’s QXDM, to analyze current handsets and network infrastructures and measure 5G network performance.
- Uses in-house simulation platforms and network traffic data to develop solutions and improve 5G network performance and efficiency.
- Develops white-papers, technical memos, new technology training documents, and detailed technical presentations.
- Supports development and evaluation of infrastructure vendor RFPs for 5G/LTE/Wi-Fi networks.
- Mentors and shares knowledge with junior team members.
- Acts as a strong contributor at design reviews and project meetings and communicates and implements a development plan.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree (or foreign academic equivalent) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related degree field.
- Seven (7) years of progressive experience in a related occupation.
- Knowledge of cellular technologies.
- Experience with air interfaces and modems.
- Experience with core networks.
- Experience developing models, code, tests and/or simulations.
- Experience with Qualcomm’s QXDM.
- Experience with in-house simulation platforms.
- Experience with network traffic data.
- Experience with 5G/LTE/Wi-Fi networks.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in designing, optimizing, and implementing wireless systems and modems.
