We are seeking a Senior Applications Engineer with deep semiconductor design experience to support Synopsys signoff tools for advanced SoCs. You will engage directly with customers to resolve STA, power integrity, and reliability challenges, and contribute to product enhancements. This role requires strong technical problem-solving skills and customer-facing experience.
Responsibilities
- Deploy and support Synopsys signoff tools (PrimeTime, RedHawk-SC, etc.) for customers designing advanced SoCs and 3DICs.
- Engage directly with semiconductor design teams to diagnose and resolve STA, power integrity, signal integrity, and reliability challenges.
- Work with product development teams to translate customer pain points into product enhancements.
- Own technical customer issues from report to resolution.
- Provide expert consultation on power distribution network analysis, static timing closure, and reliability signoff.
- Build and document EDA best practices and technical solutions.
- Support presales technical activities like proof-of-concept deployments and technical presentations.
Requirements
- 2+ years of hands-on experience in semiconductor design, including static timing analysis, timing closure, ECO implementation, or power distribution network analysis.
- Proven ability to provide technical support or customer-facing engineering for timing signoff or power integrity.
- Working knowledge of at least two of the following tools: PrimeTime, RedHawk-SC, PrimeClosure, PTECO, Tweaker, or StarRC.
- Strong scripting and programming skills in Python, Tcl, Perl, or similar languages.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with PDN implementation, advanced node design flows, or 3DIC integration is a strong plus.
- Ability to take a vague customer complaint and identify the root cause within an hour.
- Comfortable presenting technical content to senior engineers and architects.
- Ability to validate assumptions and data when challenged.
- Ability to manage multiple customer issues in parallel without losing threads.
- Knows when to escalate and when to solve independently.
- Treats internal knowledge sharing as part of the job.
