Sandvik Mining is seeking an Operations Manager in Udaipur, India, to support metal mining customers by improving machine availability and performance through reliability-centered maintenance. Responsibilities
- Support metal mining customers by actively supporting Sandvik Equipment’s.
- Improve availability of machines and performance with a focus on Reliability centered maintenance practice.
- Active promotion of Sandvik service, original spare parts, maintenance contracts, etc.
- Ensure all reasonable steps are taken to ensure all employees are provided with a safe and healthy working environment.
- Carry out health Audit checkup of the equipment’s.
- Estimate spare parts for customer stock considering machine condition, working environment, customer stock level, etc.
- Liaise with order desk / parts department and help customer in getting the spare parts.
- Analyze reports in case of warranty failure, repeated failure, peculiar failure, etc.
- Provide feedback on product performance, availability, parts consumption, etc.
- Effective implementation of preventive maintenance with the help of customer maintenance staff.
- Help customer to record maintenance activities.
Requirements
- Minimum 12 years of experience in Underground mining (Coal or Metal) is mandatory for selection for interview.
- Experience in working with operation and maintenance team for underground or surface metal mining project.
- Experience in working in Load & Haul machines, UG Production & Development drill, LPDT, LHD etc.
- Hands-on experience in UG Equipment maintenance.
- Servicing and overhauling of Underground and surface metal mining machines.
- Proficient in effective maintenance practice of the machine to demonstrate machine performance with desired availability.
- Ability to drive and conduct performance test UG Equipment's.
- Leading the team for maintenance of equipment.
- Actively participate in achieving high level of productivity.
- Planning and scheduling of operation and Maintenance task.
- Site Management skill including Accounting, Reporting, Monitoring, Administration, Strategic decision, customer communication, conflict resolution, and people management.
- Good knowledge on Mining procedure of UG Coal and/ or Metal Mines.
- Practical knowledge of Load& Haul machine working under various Mining operations.
- Ability to challenge difficult mining condition and plan to achieve operational performance in adverse working condition.
- Computer Literacy.
- High level of initiative, drive and determination to achieve goals and targets set for customer satisfaction.
- Superior customer relations and active listening skills.
- Ability to work as part of an integrated, broad team.
- Experience in CMMS/ SAP/ MAXIMO.

- BE/B Tech in Electrical, Mechanical, Automobile Engineering.
- Good People management capability & ability to train people.
- Should have been actively involved in the service operations in a complex service set-up & Multi Cultural environment.
- Basic knowledge of finance and accounting.
