Responsibilities
- Drive in-depth technical evaluations of complex project designs, system architectures, and integrations across Corporate Engineering.
- Evaluate key annual planning initiatives and off-cycle requests for the Enterprise Architecture Board.
- Act as a trusted technical advisor to engineering teams and domain leads.
- Advocate for the EA Toolkit, approved APIs, reusable design patterns, and standard technologies.
- Evaluate proposals for scalability, performance, security, high availability, and SRE best practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 8 years of experience in software development.
- 5 years of experience testing, and launching software products.
- Software development experience in one or more general-purpose programming languages (e.g., Java, C++, Python, Go, JavaScript, C#, Objective-C, or Swift).
- Experience designing and implementing distributed systems and APIs.
Desired Qualifications
- Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
- 4 years of technical management or leadership experience directing software developers, systems administrators, or systems architects.
- Exceptional stakeholder management and storytelling skills.
- Expertise in SRE (Site Reliability Engineering), designing for high performance/high availability, and building solutions within modern cloud-based environments.
- Solid background in developing, deploying, and troubleshooting full-stack applications handling planet-scale data.
