We are seeking an experienced Special Process Manager to lead innovation in welding technologies, focusing on automation and robotics. Responsibilities
- Lead the development and implementation of new welding technologies, focusing on automation and robotics.
- Apply expertise in advanced welding methods to optimize quality, efficiency, and safety.
- Define standards for welding process, welding material, and gas setting.
- Identify opportunities for process automation and continuous improvement in welding operations.
- Guide and manage the welding team, fostering a culture of innovation and technical excellence.
- Be responsible for ASME & A&B land boilers product as welding and process engineer.
- Manage welding documentation, including WPQR and WPS.
- Establish and improve the welding quality control system.
- Manage welder's documentation, including certificates.
- Design and optimize training processes for welders and support routine skill evaluations.
- Analyze and resolve NCRs, prepare repair procedures.
- Follow up on production processes and resolve welding issues.
- Specify and select new welding technology/equipment to improve quality, efficiency, and reduce safety risks.
- Continuously reduce welding material consumption, conduct new welding material try-outs and introductions.
- Independently organize, implement, and control welding projects.
- Conduct supplier on-site reviews and provide technical support with sourcing engineers.
- Lead projects for applying new technology and automation in the welding process.
Requirements
- Extensive experience with advanced welding techniques (e.g., TIG, MIG, laser welding).
- Proven track record in implementing automation and robotics in welding processes.
- Demonstrated ability to lead technical projects and drive change within an organization.
- Familiarity with welding standards, materials science, and manufacturing best practices.
- Strong analytical skills and a proactive approach to overcoming technical challenges.
- Good English skills, both spoken and written.
- Bachelor’s degree or above, major in welding or Metals & Materials Engineering.
- More than 8 years of working experience in boiler and pressure vessel, welding technology, inspection, and management, with practical operation ability.
- Familiarity with ASME, NB/GB/TSG, EN standards.
- Possess relevant welding qualification or certificate/IWE.
- Experience in automation and robotization of welding process.
- Have worked in an international company.
