Responsibilities
- Lead a team of engineers working on tier 1 services, agentic commerce, payments, basket building CX, retail ordering, and AWS Systems.
- Develop challenging and elegant software solutions and customer-centric products.
- Build and manage large-scale systems.
- Ensure system-level and business-level SLAs are met.
- Maintain an unrelenting focus on quality, throughput, and innovation.
- Collaborate with internal business-owners and external publishers/institutes to understand priorities and manage system issues.
- Communicate effectively with various stakeholders.
- Prioritize effectively and communicate clearly.
- Build cohesive and inclusive teams that deliver results.
- Grow individuals and invest in the success of each team member.
- Partner with peers and stakeholders to solve challenging business and technical problems.
- Advocate for customer needs in product development, roadmap prioritization, requirements and design reviews, and operational support.
- Understand the software development lifecycle and agile development processes.
- Foster innovation, think big, invent, and simplify.
- Dive deep into technical details, provide feedback, and offer technical guidance on design and architecture decisions.
- Collaborate with technical leaders and senior developers to build scalable, distributed systems.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree.
- 5+ years of designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience.
- 5+ years of engineering team management experience.
- Experience partnering with product and program management teams.
- Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations.
- Experience working with or evaluating AI systems.
Desired Qualifications
- Master's degree.
- Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy.
- Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching, and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills and make them more effective product software engineers.
