Responsibilities
- Validate and characterize ultra-high-speed interfaces (SerDes) in System-on-Chip (SOC) designs for electrical and optical applications.
- Work with the latest instrumentation and equipment in a modern lab space to build complex test fixtures.
- Develop scripts for device configuration, test routines, instrumentation control, and data collection within a validation software ecosystem.
- Leverage analytical and creative thinking to develop robust test solutions meeting industry standards like IEEE 802.3, OIF, and applicable MSAs.
- Drive project success through test methodology ideation, execution, data analysis, and presentation of feedback to stakeholders.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Engineering Science, Computer Engineering, or related fields.
- Knowledge of electrical and/or optical test methodologies.
- Experience using equipment to test SerDes devices, including oscilloscopes, BERTs, signal analyzers, VNAs, AWG, VOA, OSA, and power meters.
- Experience with Python and GIT for IC testing, automation, and software version control.
- Proven team player with strong communication skills and ability to work under time pressure.
- Detail-oriented with high organizational skills.
- Superb analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Self-motivated and self-managing.
Desired Qualifications
- Minimum of bachelor’s degree in Science, Engineering, or related field and 2+ years of ASIC design, verification, validation, integration, or related work experience.
- Master's degree in Science, Engineering, or related field and 1+ year of ASIC design, verification, validation, integration, or related work experience.
- PhD in Science, Engineering, or related field.
- Experience with statistical data analysis and tools used in the semiconductor industry.
- Knowledge of signal integrity and power integrity concepts.
- Understanding of SerDes architecture and theory of operation such as PLL, CDR, CTLE, ADC, FFE, DFE, TX (DAC) drivers, NRZ/PAM4 modulation, and FEC encoding.
- Experience in design of HW fixtures for test setups with consideration for signal and power integrity.
