Position Overview

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the comprehensive implementation and enforcement of the SHE Management System as outlined in Risk Control Elements RCE00 to RCE29, ensuring strict adherence to regulatory and company standards.
  • Maintain and regularly update the SHE & BC management systems and strategies, ensuring full compliance with applicable legal requirements and industry best practices.
  • Collaborate closely with local management and cross-functional teams to conduct thorough risk assessments, developing sustainable risk mitigation plans aligned with organizational goals.
  • Establish, manage, and report on SHE performance metrics using leading and lagging indicators to facilitate data-driven decision-making and effective risk management.
  • Design and oversee SHE programs that actively engage and involve all employees, promoting awareness and ownership at every level.
  • Coordinate timely and comprehensive SHE reviews, including monthly, quarterly, and annual assessments, to ensure continuous system effectiveness.
  • Support incident investigations with rigorous root cause analysis, guiding corrective and preventive measures to avoid recurrence.
  • Conduct regular audits and inspections to verify compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements, meticulously maintaining documentation and reports as required.
  • Develop and deliver impactful SHE training and awareness programs, including regulatory compliance education targeted at employees and management.
  • Provide expert technical and engineering guidance related to SHE challenges within assigned areas and projects, ensuring integration of safety considerations into operational plans.
  • Supervise facility compliance with legal standards covering critical infrastructures such as electrical systems, firefighting equipment, HVAC, compressed air, water utilities, and waste management to minimize hazards.
  • Oversee the scheduling and execution of inspections and maintenance activities for all facilities to uphold safety and operational integrity.
  • Support interdepartmental coordination in utilities management including improvements and resource supply such as gas and water, enhancing operational efficiency and safety.
  • Manage General Affairs responsibilities encompassing company events, property management, vehicle fleet, insurance policies, office supplies procurement, and cafeteria/restaurants management, ensuring smooth administrative operations.
  • Mentor and lead a team comprising SHE, Lab SHE, Facilities, and General Affairs professionals, guiding their development and achieving both short- and long-term objectives aligned with company vision.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in a related discipline with specialized qualifications pertinent to SHE management.
  • At least 15 years of progressive experience implementing, sustaining, and auditing Safety, Health, and Environmental Management Systems, particularly ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards.
  • Demonstrated expertise in lab safety, facility management, and general affairs within a production or industrial setting.
  • Proven leadership skills in managing multidisciplinary teams and coordinating cross-functional initiatives effectively.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with excellent communication and training delivery skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of relevant legal requirements and industry standards in Korea, along with a commitment to staying current with evolving regulations.
