We are seeking a Senior Project Engineer specializing in PLC Programming for our Pune, India location. The role involves designing, programming, and maintaining control systems, integrating HMI/SCADA, and configuring communication protocols. This hybrid position also includes project management, technical documentation, and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

  • Design, program, and maintain control systems using platforms like Siemens, Rockwell, Allen and Bradley; Beckhoff, and Schneider.
  • Develop and implement user interfaces for automated systems (HMI/SCADA Integration).
  • Configure communication protocols including Modbus, Profibus, CAN J1939, PROFINET, EtherCAT, and AS-I.
  • Create technical documentation (logic diagrams, I/O lists) and ensure compliance with safety standards (e.g., SIL, ISO 13849).
  • Conduct FAT/SAT, on-site installation, debugging, and provide technical support globally.
  • Interface with clients, consultants, and teams to align project goals and technical specifications.
  • Oversee budgets, timelines, and quality assurance for automation projects.
  • Apply programming skills (Python, C/C++, Excel VBA, SQL Server) and use GIT for version control.
  • Contribute to Industry 4.0 and IIoT initiatives.
  • Work with field equipment such as sensors, flowmeters, and vacuum pumps.
  • Train peers, 3rd parties, and customers.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Electrical, Electronics, Electronics & Telecommunication, Mechatronics or related engineering field.
  • 7+ years proven experience in PLC programming and industrial automation.
  • Proficient in developing automation solutions using PLC, HMI, and SCADA platforms including Siemens TIA Portal, Beckhoff TwinCAT, Rockwell RSLogix, and Schneider Machine Expert.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Excellent knowledge of machine mechanics, a logical approach, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Proficiency in CAD and AutoCAD software for PID, PFD, Wiring diagrams and control logic diagrams.

Desired Qualifications

  • Certification such as Project Management Professional preferred.
  • Knowledge of software design principals, including Siemens/AllenBradley/Fanuc/ABB/Rockwell programming a plus.
  • Experience of managing a commissioning teams onsite a benefit.
