Spotify seeks a Senior Partner Engineer to build technical partnerships with hardware manufacturers, leading integration projects for new Spotify experiences. Responsibilities
- Build trusted technical partnerships with strategic hardware manufacturers.
- Lead technical integration projects from planning through launch, helping partners successfully adopt Spotify's Core Playback SDK.
- Collaborate with engineering, product, and cross-functional teams to align priorities and remove blockers.
- Drive technical discussions, architecture reviews, workshops, and implementation planning with stakeholders.
- Write clear technical proposals, RFCs, and design documentation.
- Monitor project health, proactively identify risks, and coordinate solutions across multiple engineering teams.
- Investigate and resolve complex SDK, API, and integration challenges, contributing code when appropriate.
- Help improve tools, processes, and developer experience for partners.
- Contribute to the long-term evolution of Spotify's hardware platform.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in software engineering, partner engineering, developer relations, solutions engineering, or a similar technical role.
- Strong foundation in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Experience with software development, SDKs, APIs, distributed systems, or embedded technologies.
- Ability to comfortably read, understand, and contribute to production code.
- Experience discussing technical architecture with engineers and technical partners.
- Experience working across organizational boundaries and building strong relationships with both engineering teams and external partners.
- Ability to navigate ambiguity, prioritize effectively, and keep complex technical initiatives moving forward.
- Clear communication of technical concepts, adapting approach for different audiences without losing technical depth.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with consumer electronics, connected devices, smart home products, audio platforms, or hardware certification is valuable.
- Experience writing technical specifications, architecture proposals, or RFCs is an advantage.
