As a Senior Install Technician at Amazon Data Services Sweden AB, you will be responsible for the physical deployment and installation of IT infrastructure in AWS data centers. This hands-on role involves racking, stacking, and cabling hardware, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and documentation standards. You will collaborate with various teams to resolve issues and meet installation targets in a critical environment.
Responsibilities
- Install, rack, and cable servers, networking equipment, and other hardware components.
- Execute structured cabling, fiber optic, and copper connectivity tasks.
- Perform hardware validation and basic troubleshooting.
- Follow all safety protocols, including proper use of PPE and LOTO procedures.
- Use internal tools (SIM-T, Boost) to track work and document tasks.
- Collaborate with Data Center Operations, Network, and Engineering teams.
- Maintain accurate records of installed hardware.
- Support capacity delivery milestones.
- Identify and escalate issues impacting availability, safety, or timelines.
- Adhere to physical security requirements and CICO procedures.
Requirements
- Experience in telecommunications or network infrastructure.
- Experience with cable installation and cable management.
- Knowledge of server systems and power infrastructure.
- Fluency in English (verbal and written).
- Valid B driving license in the EU.
Desired Qualifications
- Project Management experience.
- Ability to manage vendors.
- Associate's degree in telecommunications or related field.
- Experience with fiber optic installations.
- Knowledge of network protocols and architectures.
- Knowledge of power distribution units (PDUs).
