HCLTech is seeking a Senior Data Scientist in Bengaluru, India to lead advanced data science initiatives. This role involves developing predictive models, extracting insights from complex datasets, and implementing production-grade forecasting solutions using statistical and ML approaches.
Responsibilities
- Design and deploy production-grade forecasting solutions using statistical models and ML approaches.
- Engineer sophisticated features, implement forecast reconciliation, and establish rigorous evaluation frameworks.
- Write production-grade Python and R code with modular architecture, testing, and documentation.
- Build and maintain R Shiny applications with integrated JavaScript components.
- Orchestrate ML pipelines using Kubeflow for automated training, validation, and deployment.
- Manage infrastructure as code: Databricks, Azure resources, CI/CD pipelines, containerization.
- Troubleshoot complex issues across the full stack, including data pipeline failures and model degradation.
- Implement continuous monitoring for data quality, drift detection, and performance tracking.
- Conduct root cause analysis of forecast errors and communicate findings clearly.
Requirements
- Master's or PhD degree with 3+ years of experience delivering end-to-end data science solutions in production.
- Strong Python, R, and SQL proficiency.
- Expertise in time series decomposition, seasonality, trend analysis, ensemble methods, probabilistic forecasting, and hierarchical reconciliation.
- Experience with Databricks/Spark/PySpark, Delta Lake, ETL/ELT design, job orchestration, and performance tuning.
- Experience building analytical workflows, data preprocessing, model pipelines, and system integration with KNIME.
- Experience with MLOps: Kubeflow pipeline orchestration, experiment tracking, model registry, and automated deployment.
- Proficiency in Git workflows, code reviews, testing frameworks (pytest, testthat), modular design, and documentation.
- Ability to build RESTful APIs and R Shiny applications from scratch, handling authentication, deployment, and optimization.
- Experience with Azure services (Databricks, Blob Storage, Data Factory, Key Vault, Functions), container orchestration, and CI/CD.
