Senior Counsel Contracts professional to provide sales and procurement-related contract services to ANZ and Korea business units. Responsibilities
- Review, draft, and negotiate agreements and transaction documents in compliance with applicable policies and legal and ethical standards.
- Respond to customer RFPs/RFQs, vendor qualification documents, and contractual requests.
- Draft and negotiate contractual language with customers to appropriately reflect business interests and policies.
- Serve as Contracts Lead for complex international and multi-Business Unit project contracts, as well as complex framework agreements.
- Act as Global Contracts Lead for Global Strategic Accounts.
- Develop and communicate creative solutions and mitigation strategies to key negotiation points.
- Provide guidance during the approval process, helping business owners make informed decisions and obtain appropriate approvals while assessing business, financial, and legal risks.
- Collaborate with customers, legal team members, and other Emerson stakeholders to bring deals to closure.
- Provide contract-related guidance and training to Sales, Project Management, and other stakeholders.
- Conduct legal research, provide legal advice and interpretation of legal matters, research information on agreements and contractual programs.
- Coordinate with outside counsel on routine matters.
Requirements
- Law degree
- 7+ years of work experience in a contracts-related role
- Licensed to practice law
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Excellent oral and written English
Desired Qualifications
- Qualification in, or knowledge of, any other jurisdictions in scope and/or other civil/common law legal systems would be a definite advantage.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Contract law & principles is a plus.
- Excellent negotiation skills
- Additional language proficiency is a plus
- Korean Language Proficiency is a plus
