Microsoft seeks a Commissioning Manager for its Cloud Operations & Innovation (CO+I) team, focusing on delivering core cloud infrastructure. This role involves managing data center commissioning projects in the EMEA region, ensuring alignment with Microsoft's standards, scope, schedule, and budget. The ideal candidate will have relevant engineering experience and a background in data center operations or commissioning.
Responsibilities
- Manage data centre commissioning projects in Austria/Denmark & EMEA region.
- Create and maintain best practices for quality and cost-effective solutions.
- Manage the contracted Commissioning Agent and conduct construction site inspections.
- Drive the project commissioning process, including scope and schedule.
- Review construction progress, QA/QC, and commissioning metrics, reporting to management.
- Coordinate vendor project managers and manage client representatives.
- Develop, manage, and report on scope, schedule, and budget for commissioning projects.
- Manage data center commissioning project delivery strategy.
- Provide vendor oversight and performance management.
- Prepare RFPs and other project approval tools.
Requirements
- Relevant technical engineering experience OR Bachelor's OR Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Reliability Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field.
- Experience in Data Center facility maintenance, operation, construction and/or commissioning.
- Considerable experience with Mechanical OR Electrical Test Equipment.
- Strong proficiency in written, spoken and technical English.
- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements.
- Must pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Desired Qualifications
- Commissioning Certification.
- OSHA 10 or higher qualification.
- NFPA-70E.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.

- Typical base pay range for Austria: € 78,800.00 - € 133,600.00 per year.
- Typical base pay range for Denmark: kr 715,600.00 - kr 1,201,100.00 per year.
