Qualcomm is seeking an experienced Embedded Linux Software Engineer for their platform software team in Chengdu. The role involves Linux-based system development for robotics, wearables, and drones, focusing on BSP, kernel, and driver development. Leadership experience is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop Linux platform architecture, including bootloader, kernel, BSP, and drivers (e.g., CPU, memory, clock, PCIE, Ethernet, device trees)
- Build and maintain Yocto or Debian/Ubuntu-based platforms to support productization
- Implement system-level features such as memory management, scheduler, locking, and block device drivers
- Collaborate with global teams to identify and resolve system-level issues, ensuring platform stability and performance
- Document technical designs and contribute to SDK development and delivery
- Lead small technical teams and drive project execution and delivery
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years or Master’s degree with 3+ years of embedded Linux platform development experience
- Proficient in C and Assembly with solid Linux kernel development experience
- Familiar with ARM architecture and system-level programming
- Skilled in debugging tools such as GDB, JTAG, ftrace, and perf
- Strong communication skills in both English and Mandarin
- Collaborative mindset
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with Yocto, Ubuntu/Debian, or Android/Linux system design is a plus
- Experience with Qualcomm Linux/Android platforms is a strong advantage
- Prior experience in team leadership or technical mentoring is preferred
