Emerson seeks a Quality Engineer in Aiken, SC, to lead quality assurance at a manufacturing facility producing components for solenoid valves and pneumatic actuators. This role focuses on developing and improving manufacturing and quality processes through data-driven decisions and cross-functional collaboration to enhance customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support and guidance to fabrication, assembly, and inspection personnel.
  • Perform technical investigations and prepare troubleshooting reports.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to develop and improve test/inspection methods and procedures.
  • Plan and direct APQP/PPAP activities and develop required documentation.
  • Demonstrate working knowledge of ISO 9000 quality systems and nuclear standards.
  • Perform contract review of government, nuclear, and Navy Level 1 order requirements.
  • Provide audit and inspection oversight for assigned areas.
  • Contribute as an active member of the internal audit team.
  • Participate in customer, agency, and supplier audits.
  • Provide technical and developmental support to assigned suppliers.
  • Participate in localization and new product development projects.
  • Support evaluation of nuclear and commercial material returns.

Requirements

  • Minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of quality related experience.
  • Ability to understand blueprints and geometric dimensioning & tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 standards.
  • Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing concepts and tools.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future.

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering discipline (e.g., Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, or Materials Engineering).
  • Five (5) years of quality related experience.
  • Prior experience with CNC machining and valve assembly processes, including statistical process control (SPC).
  • Certifications in Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, and/or ASQ.
  • Knowledge of nuclear standard 10 CFR 50 Appendix B manufacturing requirements.
  • Proficient in structured problem-solving methodologies and data analytics.
  • Proven success in driving continuous improvement of quality inspection processes.
