ASSA ABLOY Group seeks a Purchasing Executive in Subang Jaya, Malaysia, to ensure stock availability, manage supplier orders, and optimize inventory strategies. This entry-level, onsite position requires strong supplier relationship management and logistics coordination.
Responsibilities
- Ensure 100% stock availability and minimum safety stock levels to meet customer and sales team demand.
- Plan and place orders with suppliers to meet demand and MTPT requirements.
- Manage shipments through consolidator, including duties, taxes, and GRN process.
- Chair weekly procurement and ordering meetings to review order book status and delivery status.
- Oversee application processes for firedoor tags, SIRIM, and other required certifications.
- Process and manage the firedoor approval process with local factories.
- Process and load new SKUs and perform stock adjustments as needed.
- Manage project stock ordering schedules to meet customer delivery schedules, factory MOQs, and local stock holdings.
- Plan inventory strategies for different categories (A, B, C, SLOBs).
- Collaborate with sales managers on SKU optimization, rationalization, and SLOB reduction.
- Build strong and collaborative supplier relationships for optimal stock, supplier, and lead time management.
- Resourcing existing products from current suppliers to ASSA ABLOY approved suppliers.
- Work with appointed 3PL for on-time in-full delivery and inventory accuracy.
- Resolve issues from internal and external customers and 3PL.
- Collaborate with APAC on vendor management (performance, pricing, payment terms).
- Update and maintain active supplier master files, terms, contracts, and prices.
- Assist with supplier audits as required.
Requirements
- Entry level experience.
- Onsite presence required.
- Knowledge of inventory management and stock control.
- Ability to manage supplier relationships and negotiations.
- Experience with logistics and shipment arrangements.
- Familiarity with procurement processes and procedures.
- Ability to work with cross-functional teams, including sales and APAC.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience managing project stock ordering schedules.
- Familiarity with inventory strategy planning (A, B, C & SLOBs).
- Experience with SKU optimization and rationalization.
- Understanding of vendor management from performance, pricing, and payment terms.
- Experience assisting with supplier audits.
