The Intermediate Proposal Engineer is responsible for managing the technical and commercial aspects of proposals, including bill of materials, pricing, and contractual terms. This role involves coordinating with various departments and external stakeholders to ensure comprehensive and accurate proposal submissions. The position requires at least 3 years of relevant experience and advanced Microsoft Office skills.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and manage the technical and/or commercial aspects of proposals.
  • Compile information on services, materials, buyouts, pricing, and contractual terms.
  • Develop commercial proposal strategies to mitigate risk and promote profitability.
  • Work with Technical, Legal, Procurement, and other Emerson Divisions to incorporate information into submissions.
  • Develop Risk and Opportunity Assessments and Mitigation Reviews.
  • Manage clarifications and assumptions, ensuring proper presentation in the proposal narrative.
  • Take ownership of information required within Emerson’s estimating tools.
  • Complete client-required technical and commercial formats.
  • Assist in the development of Delegation of Authority (DOA) approval presentations.
  • Ensure timely generation, collection, and dissemination of proposal information.
  • Update project and reference databases, libraries, metrics, and pricing tools.
  • Identify and develop best practices for corporate standards.
  • Administrate and monitor assigned processes.
  • Provide support to the team for price books and quoting tools.
  • Show expertise, quality, and value-added contributions.

Requirements

  • BS in Electronics, Electrical, Electromechanical, Mechatronics, or related field.
  • At least 3 years of experience coordinating and managing the technical and/or commercial aspects of proposals or closely related experience.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Knowledgeable in control and PLC/DCS, 3rd party integration, applications, and interfaces.
  • Knowledgeable in field instrumentation, metering, control, automated valves, and bus technologies.
  • Strong working command of the English language (at least B2 Upper Intermediate level).
