Microsoft is looking for a Principal Product Manager to lead the evaluation stage for Work IQ, the workplace intelligence layer of Microsoft 365 Copilot. This AI-native role focuses on transforming the agent development lifecycle, driving product vision and strategy for AI agents, and ensuring enterprise trust and security.
Responsibilities
- Own the evaluation stage end to end, including measurement across quality, accuracy, latency, cost, trust, DLP behavior, and source scoping.
- Make evaluation continuous, run A/B testing with BizChat, and implement post-release drift detection.
- Apply an agentic loop approach to evaluation for zero-touch evidence assembly and drift detection, while keeping human decisions accountable.
- Dogfood Work IQ's own surfaces to build agentic loops and translate developer experiences into platform investments.
- Define and drive the product vision and roadmap for Work IQ focus areas serving core Copilot extensibility.
- Clarify Work IQ focus areas versus Copilot Chat, Microsoft Graph, or agent frameworks.
- Translate customer, partner, and internal agent scenarios into clear engineering investments and priorities.
- Define the platform's offerings for developers in eval tooling, evidence, and quality signals.
- Own the Work IQ focus area contract, ensuring APIs are composable, predictable, and production-ready.
- Partner with engineering on versioning, backward compatibility, and preview/GA readiness.
- Design agentic usage patterns and enable various scenarios.
- Shape developer experience across SDKs, CLI, MCP integrations, and documentation.
- Partner with security, privacy, and compliance teams to define safe defaults and guardrails.
- Establish strong collaboration partnerships with local and global engineering stakeholders.
- Drive alignment through clear specs, decision docs, and executive-ready communication.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree AND 8+ years experience in product/service/program management or software development, OR equivalent experience.
- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements.
- Required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree AND 12+ years experience in product/service/program management or software development, OR equivalent experience.
- 4+ years experience taking a product, feature, or experience to market.
- 6+ years experience improving product metrics for a product, feature, or experience in a market.
- 6+ years experience disrupting a market for a product, feature, or experience.
- Experience owning or evolving developer-facing APIs or platforms.
- Solid technical fluency in API design (REST, contracts, versioning).
- Solid technical fluency in identity, permissions, and RBAC concepts.
- Solid technical fluency in cloud or SaaS platforms at scale.
- Proven ability to operate in ambiguity and influence across org boundaries.
- Solid written and verbal communication skills for senior technical audiences.
- Experience with Microsoft Graph, Microsoft 365 extensibility, or Copilot-adjacent systems.
- Familiarity with AI agent architectures or agent-tool interaction models.
