Microsoft AI is looking for a Principal Product Manager to define and build new content products and AI systems for experiences across MSN, Edge, Windows Start, and Copilot. This role involves identifying customer needs, translating AI capabilities into products, and leading rapid customer discovery and experimentation to achieve product-market fit.

Responsibilities

  • Own the vision and strategy for new content intelligence products.
  • Build enterprise content intelligence, including personalized briefings and watchlists.
  • Translate capabilities across user understanding, knowledge graphs, content agents, ranking, quality, and interactive components into reusable product systems.
  • Lead rapid customer discovery, prototyping, and experimentation to find product-market fit.
  • Partner deeply with design, engineering, applied science, editorial, and canvas product teams.
  • Establish clear success criteria and transition proven experiences to scaled execution teams.
  • Act as a force multiplier for the product organization by influencing senior leaders and mentoring PMs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 10+ years experience in product/service/program management or software development, OR equivalent experience.
  • Proven track record of taking ambiguous, zero-to-one product ideas from customer discovery through launch and measurable adoption.
  • Experience defining and shipping AI, machine learning, search, recommendation, knowledge, or data-intensive product experiences.
  • Experience leading large cross-functional initiatives and influencing senior stakeholders without formal authority.
  • Experience building enterprise intelligence, knowledge, content, or productivity products that serve multiple applications or customer experiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop multiple new product opportunities, make disciplined evidence-based decisions, and transition successful products from exploration to scaled execution.
  • A builder's portfolio with concrete examples of new products or categories created using emerging technology.
  • A solid point of view on how AI will change content discovery, understanding, and action.
  • Comfort operating across capability, product, and experience boundaries while maintaining clear ownership.
  • Customer obsession, intellectual curiosity, a bias to prototype, and excellent judgment about when to scale, pivot, or stop.

Benefits

  • Typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $165,600 - $296,400 per year.
  • For specific work locations (San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area), the base pay range is USD $220,800 - $331,200 per year.
