Responsibilities

  • Set technical direction and drive architecture and API design across Edge, Chromium, and the web ecosystem.
  • Deliver foundational web platform innovations focused on correctness, performance, security, accessibility, and compatibility.
  • Contribute directly to Chromium to benefit browsers and the web community.
  • Partner with standards bodies, open-source communities, browser vendors, and internal teams to advance interoperable web capabilities.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship, improving engineering quality, design, and cross-team execution on complex problems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++ and/or Rust OR equivalent experience.
  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements.
  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check required.

Desired Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 12+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience.
  • Experience contributing to large-scale software engineering projects.
  • Experience designing or implementing browser, runtime, operating-system, or other performance-critical systems.
  • Experience with the Chromium codebase and web standards, or with comparable browser or runtime systems.
  • Demonstrated technical leadership across teams or organizations on complex, cross-cutting initiatives.
  • Strong design, coding, debugging, and performance-analysis skills in C++ or a comparable systems-programming language.
