Amazon is seeking a motivated System Development Engineer for the Playback Operations Systems Group in Hyderabad, India. This role focuses on supporting and automating device automation systems for live events and 24/7 linear operations within Prime Video. You will design, deliver, and own the operational health of these critical systems, improving reliability and reducing manual load while collaborating with engineering teams.
Responsibilities
- Design and deliver systems and automation that scale Prime Video's Live OTT delivery and 24/7 linear operations.
- Own the operational health of device automation and monitoring systems, identifying and resolving resilience risks.
- Improve monitoring capabilities and system reliability to reduce manual operational load.
- Define and maintain operational metrics and service level objectives with alarming based on service health.
- Drive resolution of difficult performance, reliability, and availability issues.
- Partner with adjacent Live Ops engineering teams to improve system interaction and integration.
Requirements
- Experience programming with at least one modern language such as C++, C#, Java, Python, Golang, PowerShell, Ruby.
- Experience in automating, deploying, and supporting large-scale infrastructure.
- Experience with Linux/Unix.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines build processes.
- Experience with distributed systems at scale.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems.
- Experience utilizing AWS cloud solutions in a DevOps environment.
- Experience establishing metrics for measurement of engineering and operational excellence.
- Experience in major facilities incident management.
- Experience in creating process improvements with automation and analysis.
- Experience working in a large team or fast-paced corporate environment.
- Experience supporting or automating physical device fleets, encoding appliances, or hardware infrastructure.
