Saab Australia seeks a Navigation and Aviation Engineer to manage installation, testing, commissioning, and maintenance of systems in the Ship Combat Systems environment. The role requires a minimum of 4 years of engineering experience, preferably in the defence industry, with expertise in Systems Engineering and managing complex military systems.
Responsibilities
- Install, test, commission, maintain, and troubleshoot Navigation and Aviation systems within the Ship Combat Systems environment.
- Ensure equipment is successfully installed and meets operational and performance requirements.
- Participate in the development and management of system requirements analysis for test systems.
- Prepare Set to Work and Installation and Checkout procedures.
- Maintain test and integration records in Configuration Management (CM).
- Utilize test tools to undertake test, integration, and verification, diagnosing problems and analyzing results.
- Resolve production queries and manage design changes with stakeholders.
- Negotiate support for Test & Commissioning (T&C) activities.
Requirements
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline (Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field) and/or equivalent relevant experience.
- Minimum 4 years’ experience in Engineering activities.
- Past exposure in the Integration, Installation, Test and Evaluation of CS Systems into Naval Platforms or equivalent complex Military Systems.
- Significant experience and expertise in relevant technologies and domains with substantial professional experience as a Systems Engineer.
- Extensive experience working in an engineering project multi-disciplinary environment (preferably within the defence industry).
- Ability to manage multiple, concurrent activities with tight deadlines.
- Practitioner’s level of experience in Systems Engineering (Requirements Management, System Architecture, Systems Integration, and/or Verification and Validation).
- Must be an Australian citizen.
- Must hold or be able to obtain an Australian Defence Security Clearance to NV1 level.
