Volvo Group is seeking a Graduate Apprentice Trainee in Bangalore to support the compliance manager in enhancing overall compliance levels and minimizing risk exposure. This role involves optimizing import/export processes, driving digital initiatives, and supporting customs training.

Responsibilities

  • Support the compliance manager to increase overall compliance level and minimize risk exposure.
  • Assist in managing broker relationships, internal controls, and post-entry controls.
  • Optimize import/export processes to increase efficiency, minimize lead times, and reduce costs.
  • Initiate continuous improvement activities and propose process development for customs optimization.
  • Handle and mitigate existing and/or pending cases such as customs duty drawback, bank guarantee, and refunds.
  • Identify waste, eliminate waste, and initiate digital/automation development to improve working efficiency.
  • Support custom training for internal stakeholders, making it online and attractive.
  • Manage customs privileges, HS Tariff Classification, and customs valuation.
  • Ensure compliance with FTAs, trade policies, and origin control.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external agencies.
  • Secure license applications and other communications with governmental agencies.
  • Set up and manage customs and trade relevant processes and databases.
  • Act as the interface between custom authorities and colleagues on customs audits.
  • Liaise with Customs Authorities and Legal departments on compliance issues.
  • Assist in developing inbound/outbound/packaging freight flows to reduce customs lead-times and costs.
  • Provide customs and trade compliance trainings to Volvo colleagues and key stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Degree in Supply Chain, Customs, Laws, Economics, International Business or equivalent.
  • Customs and Trade Compliance experience/knowledge is a plus.
  • Experience in logistics, supply chain, and automotive industry is preferable.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • High skills in building strong networks/relationships with other departments.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently without direct supervision.
