This role focuses on competitive analysis of power, performance, and user experience in Qualcomm's chipset solutions. Responsibilities include analyzing platform power, establishing targets, evaluating AI/ML workloads, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive future product direction.
Responsibilities
- Perform end-to-end competitive analysis investigations, identifying drivers of power efficiency, performance, thermal behavior, and user experience.
- Analyze platform power at battery, subsystem, rail, and IP-block levels using lab instrumentation, silicon measurements, traces, logs, and profiling tools.
- Establish competitive targets for power, performance, memory bandwidth, latency, thermal characteristics, and user experience metrics.
- Evaluate emerging AI and machine learning workloads to improve power efficiency and system performance.
- Generate executive-facing reports and presentations communicating insights, findings, risks, and recommendations.
- Collaborate with Product Management, Systems Engineering, Hardware, Software, Power Architecture, Multimedia, AI, and OEM partners.
- Contribute to the development of new benchmarking tools, automation frameworks, data analytics pipelines, and measurement methodologies.
- Monitor industry trends, emerging technologies, competitor products, and market directions.
Requirements
- BS/MS in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science.
- 5+ years of Systems Engineering or related work experience.
- Solid foundation in Electrical Systems Engineering and Digital Logic Design.
- Knowledge of system-level aspects of low power design.
- Ability to analyze power waveforms at core and system level.
- Experience with video, camera, and low power sub-systems (audio, sensors).
- Experience in competitive power/performance benchmarking analysis.
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 4+ years of Systems Engineering or related work experience.
- Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 3+ years of Systems Engineering or related work experience.
- PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 2+ years of Systems Engineering or related work experience.
