Emerson is looking for an Engineering Technician 3 in Knoxville, TN to test, troubleshoot, repair, and refurbish customer products. This on-site role requires an A.S. in electrical engineering or equivalent experience and involves detailed technical reporting and data analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Test and calibrate instrumentation to specifications using test procedures and schematics.
  • Troubleshoot and repair instrumentation down to board level, with some component level at times.
  • Write detailed technical reports to describe product failure and repair resolution.
  • Analyze and interpret test data.
  • Record test results per Quality requirements and ISO standards.
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures and safety guidelines.
  • Demonstrate consistent high proficiency and job performance level, along with the ability to perform with minimal errors.
  • Demonstrate high degree of flexibility to perform any customer product repair task for which they are assigned.

Requirements

  • A.S. in electrical engineering or equivalent experience
  • Ability maintaining positive work relationships with all work associates
  • Ability to maintain good customer relations
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
  • Ability to use MS Office tools efficiently and effectively
  • Good communication skills

Desired Qualifications

  • Knowledge of digital circuitry including microprocessors
  • Knowledge of multimeters, signals generators, etc.
  • Knowledge of workmanship standards.
  • Ability to use a soldering iron for surface mount components.
  • ISO 9001:2015 experience a plus
