HCLTech is seeking an Engineer - Wireless Networking in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, for a full-time, on-site role. This position involves monitoring and managing network infrastructure, including SD-WAN, WAN, MPLS, and LAN, using various monitoring tools. The role also includes incident management, troubleshooting, and reporting within a 24x7 shift environment.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor SD-WAN, WAN, MPLS, Internet, Backbone, and LAN network infrastructure using network monitoring tools.
  • Identify, analyze, and respond to network alarms, alerts, and events.
  • Perform proactive monitoring to detect network degradation and potential outages.
  • Perform first-level troubleshooting for network incidents.
  • Create, update, and manage incident tickets in ITSM tools (ServiceNow, Remedy, etc.).
  • Escalate unresolved or critical issues to L2/L3 support teams and service providers.
  • Monitor SD-WAN controllers, edge devices, tunnels, and overlay networks.
  • Monitor WAN/MPLS circuits and backbone connectivity.
  • Coordinate with telecom carriers and ISPs for circuit-related incidents.
  • Maintain network operation logs and shift handover reports.
  • Work in a 24x7 rotational shift environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics & Communication, or related field.
  • 0-3 years of experience in NOC, Network Monitoring, or Network Operations.
  • Basic understanding of SD-WAN, WAN, and Routing concepts.
  • Knowledge of incident and change management processes.
  • TCP/IP, OSI Model knowledge.
  • Routing Protocols: BGP, OSPF, EIGRP knowledge.
  • MPLS and VPN Technologies knowledge.
  • WAN Technologies knowledge.
  • SD-WAN Fundamentals knowledge.
  • DNS, DHCP, NAT knowledge.
  • Experience with one or more monitoring tools: SolarWinds, SevOne, LogicMonitor, PRTG, ThousandEyes, Cisco Catalyst Center, iObserve.
  • Familiarity with ITSM Tools: ServiceNow, Remedy, Jira Service Management.

Desired Qualifications

  • Vendor Knowledge (Preferred): Cisco SD-WAN (Viptela), Cisco Routers & Switches, Fortinet SD-WAN, Versa Networks, VMware VeloCloud, Juniper Networks.
