In short

We are seeking an experienced Filter Designer to develop next-generation 5G and 6G radio systems. This role involves designing, simulating, and integrating high-quality RF filters using industry-standard tools like HFSS and ADS, collaborating with global teams and external suppliers.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop high-quality filter products, technical solutions, and components for radio units.
  • Perform requirement analysis and definition, ensuring system and design requirements are correctly interpreted and translated.
  • Simulate and develop new filter concepts using HFSS, ADS, and internal Ericsson tools.
  • Review design solutions and drive continuous improvements of products, methods, and processes.
  • Perform integration, verification, and practical work with prototypes.
  • Contribute to pre-development and technology studies for 5G and 6G radio systems.
  • Provide technical leadership within filter design, mentoring colleagues and sharing best practices.
  • Support troubleshooting and customer cases within the technical area.

Requirements

  • MSc in Physics, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Several years of experience from RF filter technologies, including design knowledge and fabrication processes.
  • Strong knowledge of radio and RF design, and a good understanding of cellular radio networks.
  • Proficiency with HFSS and ADS (or equivalent RF simulation tools).
  • Ability to interpret and apply system-level requirements to filter design, including traceability and verification planning.
  • Proven ability to work in cross-functional, network-oriented organizations and collaborate effectively across sites and cultures.
  • Proven ability to work effectively with external partners and suppliers.
  • Workable spoken and written English; Japanese language skills are a plus.
  • Experience or potential for informal technical leadership, mentoring, and influencing technical direction.
  • Familiarity with Lean & Agile ways of working.
