AWS Infrastructure Services is looking for a Data Center Manager in Mumbai, Maharashtra to lead a team of engineers, optimize operational excellence, and manage the global infrastructure. This role involves maintaining and building data centers, improving processes, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Manage and develop teams of engineers, providing technical and leadership expertise.
- Maintain existing co-located and in-house Data Centers.
- Assist in building and bringing online new Data Centers.
- Continuously improve all processes and procedures.
- Manage relationships with external vendors and contractors.
- Liaise with internal teams and management groups.
- Ensure adherence to and exceeding of local Health & Safety standards.
- Create and maintain metrics on all aspects of Data Centers to drive positive changes.
- Implement service methodologies including incident management, problem management, change management, and capacity management.
Requirements
- 4+ years of data center engineering or operations experience.
- 3+ years of managing technical teams with significant personnel management experience.
- Proven ability to develop engineers and build successful teams.
- Experience dealing with high severity situations and understanding the implications of outages.
- Experience in Change Management & Fault Management.
- Experience dealing with external vendors, contractors, and security companies.
- Ability to demonstrate process improvement, process mapping, and implementing remediation steps.
- Experience in managing at least 5 individuals for at least 3 years.
- Experience managing both high & low performing employees is an advantage.
- Conflict management skills.
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or above in engineering or equivalent STEM field, or 4+ years of network and operating system support experience.
- 1+ years of Agile methods and processes experience.
- Experience in capacity planning, operations planning, business analysis or similar.
- Knowledge of Lean, Kaizen, Six Sigma concepts.
- Experience implementing change management successfully transitioning programs into large-scale operations.
- Passion for technology and a desire to be the best.
- Experience in developing great relationships with both internal teams and external vendors.
- Experience in Kaizen/Lean/Six Sigma is preferable.
