AWS Infrastructure Services is looking for a Data Center Manager in Mumbai, Maharashtra to lead a team of engineers, optimize operational excellence, and manage the global infrastructure. This role involves maintaining and building data centers, improving processes, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and develop teams of engineers, providing technical and leadership expertise.
  • Maintain existing co-located and in-house Data Centers.
  • Assist in building and bringing online new Data Centers.
  • Continuously improve all processes and procedures.
  • Manage relationships with external vendors and contractors.
  • Liaise with internal teams and management groups.
  • Ensure adherence to and exceeding of local Health & Safety standards.
  • Create and maintain metrics on all aspects of Data Centers to drive positive changes.
  • Implement service methodologies including incident management, problem management, change management, and capacity management.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of data center engineering or operations experience.
  • 3+ years of managing technical teams with significant personnel management experience.
  • Proven ability to develop engineers and build successful teams.
  • Experience dealing with high severity situations and understanding the implications of outages.
  • Experience in Change Management & Fault Management.
  • Experience dealing with external vendors, contractors, and security companies.
  • Ability to demonstrate process improvement, process mapping, and implementing remediation steps.
  • Experience in managing at least 5 individuals for at least 3 years.
  • Experience managing both high & low performing employees is an advantage.
  • Conflict management skills.

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or above in engineering or equivalent STEM field, or 4+ years of network and operating system support experience.
  • 1+ years of Agile methods and processes experience.
  • Experience in capacity planning, operations planning, business analysis or similar.
  • Knowledge of Lean, Kaizen, Six Sigma concepts.
  • Experience implementing change management successfully transitioning programs into large-scale operations.
  • Passion for technology and a desire to be the best.
  • Experience in developing great relationships with both internal teams and external vendors.
  • Experience in Kaizen/Lean/Six Sigma is preferable.
  • Health & Safety should be at the forefront of every manager's mind.
