Montana Instruments is seeking a Cryogenics Sales Engineer II for the Central US Region. This role focuses on generating revenue by building customer relationships, responding to technical inquiries, and supporting sales through collaboration with internal teams. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in a relevant scientific field and 5-7 years of customer-facing experience, preferably in scientific product sales.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain a working knowledge of the product line and features for industrial and academic research markets.
  • Respond to requests for quotations or technical inquiries.
  • Provide quotations for pricing and lead time with Inside Sales.
  • Collaborate with custom engineering and customer service departments to drive sales and support customers.
  • Support sales administrative staff in processing orders.
  • Prospect for new leads and opportunities based on research trends.
  • Attend workshops, conferences, and trade shows to stay abreast of industry trends and maintain company visibility.
  • Maintain customer, opportunity, and prospect data on digital platforms.
  • Meet or exceed order bookings targets.
  • Act as the Voice of Customer, providing feedback to Marketing, Engineering, and Production.
  • Travel domestically (typically 50%) within the assigned territory and to Bozeman headquarters.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required in a relevant scientific field (e.g., chemistry, physics, materials science, etc.) or equivalent experience.
  • 5-7 years’ experience of customer-facing roles (preferably sales or business development for scientific products).
  • Based in the Central US region and near a major airport.
  • Must be a US citizen.
  • Strong presentation, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively negotiate with a broad range of audiences.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated and driven with the ability to work independently and remotely.
  • Able to prioritize tasks in demanding situations.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of SalesForce.com.

Desired Qualifications

  • Preference given to candidates located in Chicago and Dallas metro areas.
  • Able to act as an ambassador for Montana Instruments’ product vision.
