Karolinska University Hospital seeks a part-time Clinical Trial Manager to coordinate two international clinical trials focused on reconstructive surgery and post-amputation pain. This role involves managing data collection, acting as a liaison, supporting monitoring activities, and contributing to documentation and analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate data collection from participating international sites in accordance with ethics approvals and quality standards, including ISO 14155.
  • Serve as a liaison between the coordinating center and participating international clinical and research sites.
  • Support and coordinate biannual monitoring activities across participating sites.
  • Contribute to ethics applications, amendments, and study documentation.
  • Contribute to data management and statistical analysis.
  • Contribute to the preparation of scientific manuscripts, reports, and conference presentations.
  • Support the overall coordination and documentation of the international clinical trials.

Requirements

  • An MSc in biomedical engineering, clinical research, or a closely related field.
  • Documented experience with clinical study documentation, research protocols, ethics applications, or related clinical research activities.
  • Knowledge of relevant clinical research quality and regulatory frameworks, such as ISO 14155 and/or the Medical Device Regulation (MDR).
  • Documented research experience in bionics and/or pain related to sensorimotor impairment.
  • Excellent written and spoken English.

Desired Qualifications

  • Research experience in prosthetics and bionics, including myoelectric pattern recognition, prosthetic control, and/or electrical stimulation related to osseointegrated prostheses.
  • Proficiency in quantitative methods and data analysis using tools such as MATLAB, Python, or R.
  • A track record of scientific writing and publication.
  • Experience with cross-institutional and international research collaboration.
  • Additional languages relevant to the project's international collaborations, for example Italian.
