Microsoft seeks a Chief Architect for the Office of the USCI CTO to lead enterprise-wide architecture and accelerate AI-powered transformation. This senior technical and strategic leader will partner with customers and internal teams to drive digital transformation, innovate solutions, and achieve business outcomes, while also mentoring a team of specialists.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with operating unit leaders to define and embed co-engineering and co-innovation models aligned with customer outcomes.
  • Champion complex delivery and AI transformation initiatives for scalable, repeatable, and impactful solutions.
  • Serve as a thought leader and change agent, influencing stakeholders to adopt modern engineering and AI practices.
  • Lead the design and deployment of reusable engineering frameworks and toolkits for co-development with customers.
  • Drive the integration of AI capabilities into customer success engagements, ensuring alignment with business value and ethical AI principles.
  • Establish governance, metrics, and best practices to measure the impact of co-engineering and co-innovation.
  • Build and mentor a high-performing team of customer engineers and AI specialists.
  • Promote diversity, inclusion, and psychological safety to unlock creativity and innovation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 6+ years of experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development OR equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 12+ years experience engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development OR equivalent experience.
  • 8+ years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.
  • 1+ year(s) of experience reading and/or writing code (e.g., sample documentation, product demos).
  • 7+ years of experience building strong stakeholder partnerships and driving cross-functional collaboration.
  • 7+ years of experience leading complex technical programs or projects, managing dependencies, milestones, and product lifecycle activities while leveraging AI and automation.
  • 7+ years of experience applying customer-focused, data-driven decision making to identify needs, develop innovative solutions, and drive business growth, operational excellence, and measurable outcomes.
  • 7+ years of experience leveraging technical expertise, Microsoft technologies, AI, and productivity tools to deliver scalable solutions.

Benefits

  • The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $142,800 - $274,800 per year.
  • For the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, the base pay range is USD $188,000 - $304,200 per year.
  • Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
