The Asia Pacific Metal Component Category Manager will lead the purchasing and awarding of new businesses for metal components in the APAC region, collaborating closely with Global Product Lines Purchasing. Responsibilities
- Asia Pacific Category ownership for materials and components.
- Build and deploy category strategies aligning with Product Line and Business Areas requirements.
- Provide collaborative leadership for on-time project execution and strategy implementation.
- Manage business strategically to leverage complexity reduction, simplification, modularization, cost performance, and innovation.
- Lead VBS process, supplier development, sourcing decisions, yearly negotiations, and supplier selection.
- Perform cost modeling analysis and innovation prospection.
- Manage relationships with cross-functional teams and internal stakeholders.
- Conduct data research, analytics, and management of direct material category strategies.
- Support annual budgets and 5-year strategic plans, identifying opportunities and risks.
- Generate initiatives and projects to deliver productivity targets.
- Lead internal and external analysis as part of a cross-functional sourcing team.
- Support RFQ and other strategic sourcing activities.
- Manage and evaluate contractual agreement terms.
- Assist in the implementation and expansion of payment terms.
- Evaluate and propose actions for simplification and complexity reduction.
- Participate in negotiations and drive value through Value Based Sourcing.
- Maximize buying efficiency, minimize supply disruption, and financial risks.
- Support Program Management on new model launches and platform refreshes.
- Address and support resolution of supplier-driven performance issues.
- Identify potential contract improvement opportunities and re-negotiations.
Requirements
- Demonstrated ability to develop and retain strong supplier relationships.
- Extensive negotiation skills.
- Expertise in continuous improvement of sourcing methods.
- Tooling capability understanding.
- Deep knowledge of supplier industrial process and financial situation.
- Ability to manage relationships/partnerships with cross-functional teams and internal stakeholders.
- Experience in data research, analytics, and management of direct material category strategies.
- Experience supporting the development of annual budgets and 5-year strategic plans.
- Experience in generating initiatives and projects to deliver productivity targets.
- Experience leading internal and external analysis.
- Experience supporting RFQ and other strategic sourcing activities.
- Experience managing and evaluating contractual agreement terms to ensure compliance.
- Experience assisting in the implementation and expansion of payment terms.
- Experience evaluating and proposing actions and initiatives around simplification and complexity reduction.
- Experience participating in negotiations and using creative ways to drive value.
- Experience maximizing buying efficiency, minimizing supply disruption, and financial risks.
- Experience supporting Program Management on new model launches and platform refresh programs.
- Experience addressing/supporting resolution to supplier driven performance issues.
- Experience identifying potential contract improvement opportunities & re-negotiations.
