Nordock Inc. seeks a Buyer to ensure stable supply chain operations and adequate inventory levels. Responsibilities include managing purchase orders, tracking shortages, and collaborating with departments to resolve issues. A Bachelor's degree or related experience, strong analytical skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Office are required.

Responsibilities

  • Review manufacturing needs and generate or release orders to meet demand and inventory plans.
  • Issue purchase order requests, track receipts, expedite, and resolve issues.
  • Track, monitor, and expedite part shortages.
  • Integrate internal protocols (e.g., Just-in-time, Kanban) with vendor and customer processes.
  • Follow up on goods receipt transaction discrepancies.
  • Evaluate and report delivery reliability misses and update production for potential impacts.
  • Work with the Planning Manager to deal with Quality and Engineering departments to resolve quality and rejected material problems.
  • Execute purchase orders for a range of commodities.
  • Support vendor service levels, cost, and inventory turns KPIs for the facility.
  • Manage service providers and issue POs for required work.
  • Manage in-house shop supplies and seek cost-saving opportunities.
  • Purchase unique project-related items.
  • Coordinate special requirements for outsourcing in support of the master planner.
  • Maintain tooling supplies for shop equipment and seek savings.
  • Back-up for serial number creation for equipment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business or experience in a related field.
  • 3-5 years Supply Chain Planning experience, make-to-stock and make-to-order experience preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to draw information from various sources, analyze, and provide recommendations.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (oral & written).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, with excellent Excel skills.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently under pressure and react quickly to changing priorities.
  • ERP experience (LN is a plus).
  • Able to work independently with little supervision and/or in a team environment.
