We are seeking a Staff Business Development professional with 3-5 years of experience in investment banking or consulting to join our team in Sunnyvale, CA. This role focuses on sourcing and evaluating M&A targets, building financial models and business cases, and supporting deal execution. The ideal candidate has strong deal-making experience and a desire to see business cases through to execution.

Responsibilities

  • Source and evaluate M&A targets by partnering with business leaders to identify portfolio gaps and growth opportunities.
  • Build financial models and business cases supporting deal rationale, valuation, and strategic fit.
  • Support deal execution by coordinating due diligence, managing data rooms, and working cross-functionally with legal, finance, and business unit leaders.
  • Partner with the strategy function to analyze market trends, competitive dynamics, and technology shifts.
  • Track and support post-close integration efforts.
  • Maintain deal pipeline tracking, target research, and market intelligence.

Requirements

  • 3 to 5 years of experience in investment banking, consulting, or corporate development with exposure to M&A deal processes.
  • Strong financial modeling skills and ability to build business cases.
  • Experience supporting deal execution, including due diligence coordination, valuation analysis, or transaction support.
  • An MBA or equivalent analytical training.
  • Comfort working in Excel, PowerPoint, and financial analysis tools.
  • Experience in technology, semiconductor, or software sectors is a plus but not required.

Desired Qualifications

  • Ability to build a credible financial model in a day and explain key assumptions to a CFO in two minutes.
  • Proactive in identifying and filling gaps in diligence checklists or integration plans.
  • Comfortable asking questions that change the direction of a conversation, even as the least senior person.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously.
  • Treats every deal as important, understanding its potential impact on a business unit or the entire company.
